First Renewable Hydrogen Transported from Lingen to Marl Chemical Park
On August 4, hydrogen produced through electrolysis was successfully transported from Lingen to Marl, marking a milestone for the GET H2 Nucleus project. This integrated operation showcases a significant advancement in Germany's hydrogen core network, involving multiple key industry players.

Hydrogen generated from renewable sources was transported from Lingen to the Marl Chemical Park for the first time on August 4. This achievement indicates a successful integration of production, transport infrastructure, and industrial acceptance under the GET H2 Nucleus project, involving RWE, OGE, Nowega, and Evonik.
RWE is commissioning two 100-megawatt electrolysis plants in Lingen, aiming for a total capacity of 300 megawatts by 2027. The hydrogen complies with EU standards for renewable fuels and supports decarbonization targets.
The project is partially funded by the federal government and aims to expand pipeline infrastructure, including the connection to Europe’s first hydrogen cavern storage by mid-2027. The operational success of this project may pave the way for future hydrogen market expansions.
