GWM Launches Brazil's First Commercial Hydrogen Truck Refueling
GWM has completed Brazil's first commercial refueling of a green hydrogen truck, marking a significant step in hydrogen mobility. The company anticipates R$ 20 million in sales for hydrogen trucks and solutions in Brazil by 2026, with projections rising to R$ 200 million by 2027.

GWM has achieved a milestone with the first commercial refueling of a green hydrogen truck in Brazil at the Centro de Referência em Tecnologias de Baixo Carbono e Hidrogênio Verde in Camaçari, Bahia. The company plans to generate R$ 20 million in sales by 2026, with negotiations ongoing with seven firms and a Latin American client, suggesting this figure could be exceeded.
By 2027, GWM aims for R$ 200 million in sales, highlighting Brazil as a key market outside China. The hydrogen truck has already traveled over 500 km during trials, with projections to exceed 1,000 km soon.
GWM also offers retrofitting solutions for existing diesel trucks to hydrogen fuel cell systems, addressing the challenge of hydrogen refueling infrastructure. The partnership behind the facility includes Senai Cimatec, Hytron, and Petrogal Brasil, focusing on hydrogen production and renewable energy.
