Five Companies Sign Long-Term Contracts for 6.7 Lakh Tonnes of Green Ammonia Supply in India
Five companies have entered into a 10-year agreement to supply 6.7 lakh tonnes of green ammonia to major fertiliser producers like IFFCO and Coromandel International. This initiative aims to enhance India's energy security, especially amid ongoing geopolitical tensions impacting energy imports.

Five companies, including Acme Cleantec and NTPC Renewable Energy, have signed 10-year agreements to supply a total of 6.7 lakh tonnes of green ammonia to key fertiliser manufacturers including IFFCO and Coromandel International. Acme Cleantech will deliver 3,70,000 tonnes per annum linked to various plants in Odisha, Gujarat, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal, with prices ranging from Rs 49.75 to Rs 64.74 per kg.
The Solar Energy Corporation of India has allocated 7.24 lakh tonnes per annum capacity to developers for 13 fertiliser units. The expected savings of USD 2.5 billion in foreign exchange over the next decade underscore the importance of this initiative in enhancing India's energy independence and reducing reliance on imported ammonia. Competitive pricing positions Indian green ammonia favorably against international benchmarks.
