Florida Polytechnic University Receives $2.9M for AI and Cybersecurity Laboratory
Florida Polytechnic University has been awarded $2.9 million in federal funding to establish the Public Service Applied Innovation Laboratory (PSAIL), enhancing education in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. This initiative, supported by Congressman Scott Franklin, aims to create a facility that promotes hands-on training in these fields.
The project includes a new Security Operations Center (SOC) in partnership with Sittadel, designed to develop advanced cybersecurity defenses and prepare graduates for industry demands. The PSAIL will feature integrated environments for network monitoring and applied AI research, supporting public safety use cases through collaborations, including with the Polk County Sheriff's Office. This investment is intended to strengthen workforce development and public safety in Florida.
