FloridaWest is advancing several economic development projects in Escambia County, including 'Project Britain,' which involves an aerospace company considering a headquarters relocation near Pensacola, pending a county commission vote on an Economic Development Tax Extension. Additionally, plans are underway to transform the vacant Pensacola Technology Park into a defense cluster, while infrastructure improvements at the Bluffs Roundabout aim to enhance access for Ascend Performance Materials. The upcoming Phase 2 of the Central Commerce Park will open 240 acres for larger manufacturing facilities, attracting interest from potential businesses.

FloridaWest is progressing on various economic development initiatives in Escambia County, including potential projects and the 'Project Britain' involving an unnamed aerospace company considering relocating its headquarters and MRO facilities near Pensacola. A decision on this project awaits a vote by Escambia County Commissioners on Jan. 8 regarding an Economic Development Ad Valorem Tax Extension.
Additionally, FloridaWest plans to develop the vacant Pensacola Technology Park into a defense cluster and is discussing improvements with local authorities. The Bluffs Roundabout Infrastructure Project, funded by over $6 million from the Florida Department of Transportation, aims to enhance access and safety for Ascend Performance Materials in Cantonment, with bidding expected to begin in early February.
