FMV Launches Battle Week to Enhance Defense Innovation in Sweden
Sweden's FMV initiates Battle Week to accelerate defense innovations, aiming for a 52-week solution delivery timeline. The initiative invites international companies to propose solutions addressing military capability gaps, enhancing operational readiness for Swedish and allied forces.

The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has launched Battle Week, a strategic initiative designed to expedite the delivery of innovative solutions to military problems, targeting a 52-week timeframe from identification to deployment. The program includes a Test and Evaluation week followed by a demonstration phase, allowing companies to showcase solutions against relevant threats at FMV's extensive test ranges, such as Vidsel and Härnösand.
Battle Week 01 focuses on protecting ground-based radar systems and critical infrastructure from a range of threats, excluding advanced threats like hypersonic missiles. This initiative is open to both Swedish and international companies, aiming to attract innovative solutions, particularly from small and medium-sized enterprises. Increased defense budgets and the ongoing geopolitical climate, including the Ukraine conflict, are driving demand for FMV's testing services.
