ForSight Robotics Develops Jasper to Enhance Cataract Surgery Efficiency
ForSight Robotics has introduced Jasper, a robotic platform aimed at improving cataract surgeries. With over 600 million people affected by cataracts, innovative solutions are essential to address the shortage of ophthalmic surgeons and the rising demand for procedures.

ForSight Robotics has launched Jasper, the first robotic platform tailored for cataract surgery, aiming to enhance surgical precision and efficiency. With only 30 million cataract surgeries performed annually despite over 600 million affected individuals, the need for innovation is critical.
Jasper can potentially increase the number of surgeries from 10-20 to 70-80 daily, addressing the shortage of qualified surgeons. The technology has already been tested in 12 successful procedures in the Philippines, and the company is pursuing regulatory approvals to expand into the U.S. and beyond. The firm's $128 million Series B funding will support further development, and the platform is designed to assist rather than replace surgeons, allowing for greater control during surgery.
