The U.S. Army's III Armored Corps has unveiled the Phantom Experimentation Laboratory (PhantomX) to foster technological advancement and innovation by 2026. This program includes multiple initiatives, such as the Pegasus Charge effort led by the 1st Cavalry Division, which is part of the broader Transforming in Contact program.
Recent advancements include a $2 million contract for autonomous vehicles and the completion of unmanned ground vehicle tests with DARPA. Additionally, the 1st Medical Brigade is enhancing capabilities with underground field hospital training.
Fort Hood's collaboration with Texas A&M University Central Texas and Central Texas College aims to integrate new skills into operational units. The installation's focus on advanced manufacturing and creating an innovation hub highlights its commitment to maintaining combat readiness.
