Fort Hunter Liggett's Hacienda to Receive $9.6 Million HVAC and DHW Upgrade
Fort Hunter Liggett in Monterey, CA, will upgrade the historic Hacienda lodge's HVAC and domestic hot water systems with a $9.6 million investment. The project aims to improve indoor air quality and enhance the guest experience through a new geothermal system. Funding was secured through the Army's REFoRM program and additional Army Energy and Utility Program funds. The upgrades will be completed in four years, coinciding with the Hacienda's 100th anniversary in 2030.

Fort Hunter Liggett is set to invest $9.6 million in upgrading the HVAC and domestic hot water systems at its historic Hacienda lodge. The project will implement a geothermal system to improve indoor air quality and enhance the guest experience by eliminating outdated infrastructure.
Funding comes from the Army Reserve’s REFoRM program and additional Army Energy funds. The contract for the project has been awarded to McKenzie Construction, with completion expected in four years to coincide with the Hacienda's centenary in 2030. The upgrades are part of a broader initiative to enhance energy and water resilience at Fort Hunter Liggett.
