FOSSA Systems is entering Japan's defense sector through a partnership with Kanematsu, enhancing its satellite capabilities. The company's transition from picosatellites to larger cubesats aims to meet growing demand for advanced communication and intelligence services.

FOSSA Systems is advancing into Japan's defense market after forming a partnership with Kanematsu, which has a robust presence in aerospace and defense. The company has shifted focus from picosatellites to 3U cubesats, deploying seven in orbit, each designed for approximately five years of operation.
Additionally, FOSSA is developing a 75-150 kg microsatellite platform for diverse applications including secure communications and signal intelligence. Revenue has increased by 500% since 2023, and the workforce has doubled to 50. FOSSA plans to expand its satellite constellation from 80 to 140 units within the next 36 months, benefiting from its integrated approach to satellite technology and ground operations.
