Freedom Center IV Barracks Nears Completion at Fort Meade for 380 Service Members
Construction on the Freedom Center IV Barracks at Fort Meade is nearing completion, providing new quarters for nearly 380 enlisted service members. The project, initiated in November 2023, consists of two four-story buildings with modern amenities. The East Barracks is expected to be completed by the end of January 2026, followed by the West Barracks in mid-March. The new facility will replace the current 9000-series barracks on the NSA campus, with move-in targeted for fall 2026.

The Freedom Center IV Barracks at Fort Meade is nearing completion, set to house nearly 380 enlisted service members. Construction began in November 2023, following extensive planning involving the Department of Defense and NSA.
The facility consists of two four-story buildings providing approximately 80,000 square feet of living space, each with 95 suites designed for modern living standards. The East Barracks is expected to be completed by the end of January 2026, while the West Barracks will be finished by mid-March. The current 9000-series barracks will be demolished after the new facility opens, with move-in expected in fall 2026.
