French Army Deploys 30 Serval Appui SCORPION Armoured Personnel Carriers for High-Intensity Combat
The French Army has deployed 30 Serval Appui SCORPION armored personnel carriers, part of a contract for 530 vehicles with KNDS France and Texelis, valued over one billion euros. These vehicles are designed for high-intensity combat and counter-drone operations, reflecting a strategic shift to adapt ground forces to modern warfare conditions.
The Serval Appui SCORPION, derived from the Serval VBMR-L, features modular composite armor, advanced mobility with a 375-horsepower engine, and can carry up to eight troops. It supports various functions including ground-based air defense and counter-drone systems.
Production is spread across multiple French sites, with deliveries set to continue through 2033. The integration of these vehicles is expected to enhance the Army's operational capabilities significantly.
