FriendShip Park Opens in Oak Harbor with Lowe's Support
FriendShip Park, a $300,000 community project, officially opened with significant contributions from Lowe's, including a $170,000 grant and volunteer efforts. The park aims to enhance community engagement by transforming a vacant lot into a recreational space with riverfront access.

FriendShip Park, located at 327 W. Water St. in Oak Harbor, has opened following a $300,000 investment, primarily funded by a $170,000 Lowe's Hometowns grant. Over 50 Lowe's volunteers participated in landscaping as part of the company's Red Vest Day event.
The project, overseen by local contractor Delventhal, involved foundational work approved by the Army Corps of Engineers and included the installation of footers for a future trellis and floating dock. Community partners included Oak Harbor Development Group and the Park District of Ottawa County.
The park is designed to foster community interaction and features seating and amenities. It is intended to serve as a gathering space, with plans for additional phases of development.
