FRSC Urges NACTOMORAS to Enhance Rider Safety and Database Compliance in Nigeria
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has urged the National Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association (NACTOMORAS) to create a comprehensive database for its members to improve safety compliance on Nigerian highways. FRSC's corps marshal emphasized the importance of qualified registration for riders and highlighted the need for strict adherence to traffic rules to reduce road crashes. The FRSC also introduced a mobile app for vehicle verification and announced ongoing initiatives for deploying CNG and electric vehicles.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has called on the National Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association (NACTOMORAS) to establish a comprehensive database of its members to improve safety compliance on Nigerian highways. FRSC corps marshal Alhaji Shehu Mohammed stressed the necessity for qualified registration of riders to enhance road safety.
He also highlighted the dangers of certain roads lacking smart infrastructure and the need for regulations in high-risk areas. The FRSC mobile application, offering vehicle verification and real-time road information, was presented as a key tool for safety. Additionally, the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (PI-CNG) aims to reduce transportation costs and promote CNG and electric tricycles across Nigeria.
