Amazon plans to invest $500 million to redevelop a 1.1 million sq. ft. property on Campbellton Road in southwest Atlanta into a 'first-mile' fulfillment center. This facility will use Amazon robotics for inventory management and shipping to other logistics sites.

The project is expected to generate 500 construction jobs and 750 permanent positions in the Fulton Industrial Corridor. If approved, Amazon would receive $16 million in tax incentives over 10 years. While the Fulton County Development Authority pre-approved the investment to maintain momentum in discussions, there was some pushback from board member Alvin Kendall regarding the urgency of the decision-making process. Amazon will announce its final location decision in the coming months.
