Fundraising for Rudee Park Set to Launch This Fall in Virginia Beach
Virginia Beach is initiating a multimillion-dollar fundraising campaign for Rudee Park, aiming to raise up to $20 million through sponsorships. The park, designed to attract 3 million visitors annually, will feature recreational amenities and is scheduled for groundbreaking in late 2027.

A fundraising campaign for Rudee Park in Virginia Beach will commence this fall, with a goal to raise up to $20 million through sponsorships. The city has allocated $50 million for the project, which will transform 8 acres into a public park featuring a beach village, picnic areas, and an event pavilion.
The Virginia Gentlemen Foundation will manage the fundraising effort, which has been officially registered for donations as of May 15. Construction drawings are expected to be finalized early next year, with a groundbreaking slated for late fall 2027, followed by a two-year construction period.
Potential revenue sources include ticketed events and food sales. The project may face design challenges related to the U.S. Army Corps' coastal storm risk management project.
