GA-ASI Demonstrates Autonomous Mission Flight with MQ-20 Avenger in 2026
DEFENSE
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) executed a successful mission autonomy flight with its MQ-20 Avenger, utilizing government reference autonomy software. The demonstration featured a live engagement with an aggressor aircraft, showcasing the aircraft's ability to independently track and simulate a weapon firing at a target using an infrared sensor from Anduril.
The MQ-20 adhered to operator-assigned zones and executed complex tasks autonomously. GA-ASI has invested in partnerships for manufacturing and technology development, including collaborations with Divergent Technologies, U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command, and Shield AI.
