Gabon Extractive Industries Contract by 1.2% in Q3 2025 Due to Oil and Gas Production Declines
In Q3 2025, Gabon's extractive industries contracted by 1.2%, driven by a 4.3% decline in oil production and a 1.7% drop in marketed natural gas. These reductions are linked to technical issues and aging fields. Year-to-date, oil production decreased by 2.1%, while gas production fell by 5.4%. The only sector to show growth was manganese, which increased by 8.6% in Q3. However, the overall extractive activities index fell by 4.3% year-on-year, indicating a decline in this vital sector for Gabon's economy.
