Gas Malaysia, Tokyo Gas, and VTTI Collaborate on LNG Terminal in Kedah
Gas Malaysia Bhd has signed a joint development agreement with Tokyo Gas and VTTI for an LNG regasification terminal in Kedah. The project, with a total estimated cost of RM72 million, aims to enhance Malaysia's energy security and support industrial growth in the region.

Gas Malaysia Bhd, Tokyo Gas Co Ltd, and VTTI B.V. have entered into a joint development agreement for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification terminal in Yan, Kedah, with a total estimated development cost of RM72 million. Gas Malaysia will lead the project and hold a 70% share, contributing RM49.8 million, while Tokyo Gas and VTTI will each hold 15%.
This collaboration aims to diversify LNG import infrastructure and enhance energy security in Malaysia, supporting future growth in the industrial and power sectors. A positive final investment decision could lead to improved future earnings for Gas Malaysia.
