General Atomics Launches Advanced Munitions Production Line in Mississippi
General Atomics has invested over $1 billion in U.S. defense manufacturing over the past two decades, unveiling a new automated production line in Tupelo, Mississippi. This initiative aims to enhance artillery modernization and support the defense industrial base.

General Atomics (GA) has announced a significant expansion in defense manufacturing with over $1 billion invested in infrastructure over 20 years. The new automated manufacturing line in Tupelo, Mississippi, will enhance the production of critical defense systems, including the Vektrex projectile for the U.S.
Army's Extended Range Artillery Projectile (ERAP) program. The facility spans more than 700,000 square feet and integrates advanced manufacturing technologies, including robotics and CNC machining. This expansion is expected to strengthen domestic supply chains and create high-skilled workforce opportunities in Mississippi, contributing to national defense capabilities.
