Geosteel Advances to Green Steel Production with Modernization and Innovation by 2025

Geosteel, the first company to restart steel production in Georgia post-Soviet Union, has evolved significantly in its 15 years of operation. By 2025, the company intensified modernization efforts, implementing low-carbon technologies and committing to sustainable development.

Key achievements include the commissioning of a direct charging project, which reduces carbon emissions and energy consumption by transferring hot billets directly to the rolling mill. Geosteel has also prioritized environmental responsibility, being the first in the region to adopt a modern fume exhaust system and expanding solar power capacity to 11 MW, with a target of 50 MW by 2026.

Additionally, a new wire rod mill is set to be commissioned in 2026, allowing for product diversification. Geosteel's commitment to training and community engagement further solidifies its role in shaping Georgia's steel industry.
