Steel Kosice by Nippon Steel as a significant milestone, asserting government support for its successful development and modernisation. Slovakia also welcomes Nippon's investment commitment in decarbonisation efforts, including an electric arc furnace.
Fico expressed the need for advancements in energy, transport, and digitisation while ensuring the competitiveness of Slovak businesses. This visit by Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi marks the first by a Japanese official in 19 years, coinciding with a Visegrad Group meeting with Japan.
