German Firms Secure Long-Term Gas Contracts with SOCAR for 2 Billion Cubic Meters Annually
German companies have finalized contracts with SOCAR for the supply of approximately 2 billion cubic meters of gas each year. This development is significant for Europe's energy security, even in the absence of direct pipeline connections to Germany.

German firms have entered into agreements with SOCAR for the annual purchase of around 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas. These contracts, lasting approximately ten years, will not involve direct deliveries to Germany due to the lack of a pipeline, but will bolster energy security in Europe, with Italy as the primary destination for the gas.
The agreements facilitate swap arrangements with other European importers. Stability in supply volumes is expected throughout the contract period, with potential for future increases. This partnership highlights Azerbaijan's rising role in supplying energy to Europe and supports diversification efforts in the energy market.
