Ghana Gas to Expand Processing Capacity to 300 mmscf/d with GPP 2 Project
Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) is set to double its gas processing capacity to 300 million standard cubic feet per day with the Gas Processing Plant 2 (GPP 2) project, aimed at reducing gas flaring and improving methane management. The initiative has received the necessary construction permit and is part of GNGC's broader commitment to sustainability, which includes afforestation efforts and advanced leak detection systems. Since 2014, GNGC has successfully halved gas flaring levels while investing in partnerships to meet Ghana's emission reduction goals.

Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) plans to double its gas processing capacity with the Gas Processing Plant 2 (GPP 2) project, increasing output from 150 million standard cubic feet per day to 300 mmscf per day. This initiative aims to reduce gas flaring and enhance methane management in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy.
GNGC has obtained the necessary construction permit for GPP Train 2 under Environmental Assessment Regulations. Since 2014, GNGC has halved flaring levels, focusing on sustainability and emission reductions.
The Atuabo Gas Processing Plant incorporates Leak Detection and Repair mechanisms for methane leak management.
