Glencore and Mercuria Increase LNG Purchases from Commonwealth Terminal
Glencore Plc and Mercuria Energy Trading SA are set to enhance their LNG procurement through 20-year contracts with Commonwealth LNG. This development follows the termination of a previous agreement with Jera Co., affecting market dynamics in LNG supply.

Glencore will purchase 3 million tonnes of LNG annually from Commonwealth LNG, an increase of 50% from its initial agreement. Mercuria's annual procurement will rise to 1.5 million tonnes, up from 1 million tonnes.
These contract expansions come after the cancellation of a contract with Jera Co., which had intended to acquire 1 million tonnes annually. The strategic decisions by Glencore and Mercuria may influence future LNG pricing and availability, particularly in light of shifting demand patterns in global markets.
