DEFENSE

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant confirmed that Dabolim Airport will continue civilian operations, dismissing opposition concerns as political stunts. He emphasized that the airport, located within the Indian Navy's INS Hansa air base, has always served both civilian and naval purposes.

Sawant noted a recent investment of Rs 850 crore for airport upgrades, including Rs 450 crore for a fly-over. He stated that the Union cabinet has decided against shutting down Dabolim Airport for civilian use, which also includes the operational Manohar International Airport in North Goa.
