Governor Gurmit Singh Addresses Grievances of Ex-Servicemen and Public in Dehradun
Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) held a Jan Milan programme in Dehradun to address grievances from ex-servicemen and the public, focusing on issues such as land disputes, compensation, and employment. He directed the Grievance Redressal Officer to escalate these concerns to District Magistrates for swift resolution, highlighting the importance of addressing minor grievances to reduce public hardship. The Governor also noted the successful resolution of previous issues related to youth recruitment in the Indian Army, facilitating timely access to examination opportunities for affected students.

Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) conducted a Jan Milan programme in Dehradun to address issues faced by ex-servicemen and the public. Twelve individuals from Pauri, Almora, Udham Singh Nagar, and Dehradun raised concerns regarding land disputes, compensation, employment, and financial assistance.
The Governor instructed the Grievance Redressal Officer to forward these issues to District Magistrates for prompt resolution. He emphasized the need for timely handling of minor grievances to alleviate public hardship.
Previous concerns about youths recruited into the Indian Army were resolved quickly, with the university issuing degrees within three days after intervention from Lok Bhawan. The Governor's actions enabled a student to sit for an examination after a technical issue was addressed. Finance Controller Dr Tripti Shrivastava and Grievance Redressal Officer Vinod Shah were also present.
