Greece is focusing on India’s advanced weapons systems as part of its 'Agenda 2030' modernization program to enhance defense capabilities. Key systems of interest include the Akash missile for air defense, Barak 8 for naval applications, and BrahMos hypersonic missile for long-range strike capabilities. Greece aims for a strategic alliance with India for joint R&D and co-production, moving away from reliance on traditional Western suppliers. This partnership also includes collaboration on unmanned aerial vehicle technologies.

Greece is looking to India's advanced weaponry to support its 'Agenda 2030' defense modernization initiative, particularly to strengthen its deterrence capabilities against Turkey. The Akash missile system offers operationally proven air defense, while the Barak 8 missile addresses naval threats.
The BrahMos hypersonic missile could enhance Greece's anti-access/area denial strategy. Greece is also collaborating with India on drone technologies, including the Sarisa drone and counter-UAV systems.
Recent discussions emphasized a desire for strategic partnership, including joint R&D and co-production. This shift marks a move away from reliance on US and European suppliers, aiming for mutual benefits such as technology transfer and job creation. Both nations share interests in countering regional threats, potentially leading to future intelligence sharing and joint exercises.
