Greece's Defense Minister Dendias to Discuss NATO and Defense Modernization in UK Visit
Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias will meet UK Defense Secretary John Healey on March 16-17 to discuss NATO issues and bilateral defense cooperation. Concurrently, the Hellenic Parliament's Committee on Armament Programs will review new procurement procedures aimed at enhancing transparency. Greece is also advancing a €5 billion defense modernization package, including the 'Achilles Shield' air defense system, upgrades to F-16 jets, and support for C-27J transport aircraft.

In Athens, the Hellenic Parliament's Committee on Armament Programs will meet to discuss new procedures for Follow On Support contracts, aimed at improving transparency in defense procurement. Greece is advancing a €5 billion modernization package, highlighted by the 'Achilles Shield' air defense system, upgrades to 38 F-16 Block 50 jets, and a support contract for the C-27J Spartan transport fleet, all intended to enhance national defense capabilities.
