Greenland Mines Secures Drilling Contract for Skaergaard Project in 2026
Greenland Mines Ltd. has contracted Nordisk Fundering for a 7,500-metre diamond drilling campaign at Skaergaard, aimed at advancing one of the largest undeveloped PGM resources. This initiative is critical in shifting the project towards open-pit development, addressing supply chain vulnerabilities in the PGM sector dominated by Russia and South Africa.

Greenland Mines Ltd. has signed a contract with Nordisk Fundering to undertake a 7,500-metre diamond drilling program at its Skaergaard project in southeast Greenland, scheduled for 2026. The program will involve three helicopter-portable rigs and aims to collect geotechnical and metallurgical data necessary for mine planning, reflecting a shift from resource evaluation to development readiness.
The project hosts a significant palladium-gold-platinum resource, with a recent analysis indicating potential reserves of 16.58 million ounces PdEq in the Indicated category. The strategic importance of Skaergaard has heightened due to its location in a politically stable region, amidst growing concerns over PGM supply from traditional sources. Successful execution of this drilling campaign could position Greenland Mines favorably in the competitive landscape for critical metals.
