Grimaldi Group Advances Hydrogen Technology in Valencia Port through H2PORTS Project
On December 3, the Grimaldi Group participated in the final conference of the H2PORTS project, focused on implementing hydrogen technologies in port operations. Coordinated by Fundación Valenciaport and funded by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership program, the project aimed to validate hydrogen solutions for port handling, achieving zero local emissions.
The event featured around 30 speakers and over 150 attendees, showcasing a hydrogen fuel-cell reach stacker, a hydrogen 4×4 terminal tractor, and a mobile refueling station tested in real conditions. The project had an investment of approximately €4 million, with partners including CNH2, MSC Terminal Valencia, and Ballard Power Systems.
Grimaldi played a key role in developing the first hydrogen-fuelled terminal tractor, which integrates a 70 kW fuel cell and a 25 kWh battery, ensuring zero emissions during operations. The successful trials confirm the viability of hydrogen technology for demanding port operations in Valencia.
