GS Energy Enhances Methane Leak Detection at Boryeong LNG Terminal with Flir GF77a Camera

GS Energy has adopted the Flir GF77a optical gas imaging camera at the Boryeong LNG Terminal to bolster methane leak detection, addressing vulnerabilities in LNG pressure regulation facilities. The system combines real-time video monitoring with an AI plume detection engine, which automatically logs events and triggers alarms upon detecting leaks.

This approach enhances monitoring capabilities over a broader area without requiring additional cameras, integrating seamlessly with existing CCTV infrastructure. Following successful on-site testing, the facility aims to refine AI models for specific conditions and expand monitoring capabilities across the facility. The integration of Flir's visual detection technology is expected to improve leak detection operations and reduce safety risks.
