Guam and CNMI Leaders Convene Joint Task Force-Micronesia for Civil-Military Coordination Council Meeting

DEFENSE

On January 28, Guam Governor Lourdes Leon Guerrero and CNMI Governor David Apatang participated in a Civil-Military Coordination Council meeting with U.S. Navy Rear Admirals Josh Lasky and Brett Mietus.

This marked the first CNMI representation at the CMCC, promoting inter-island unity. Attendees from various military branches and Guam government agencies discussed collaboration on military readiness projects.

The CMCC, established in 2010, aims to enhance coordination between the DoD and local governments. The next meeting is scheduled for late Spring, with ongoing quarterly meetings in the CNMI focused on military developments.
