Guam and CNMI Leaders Convene Joint Task Force-Micronesia for Civil-Military Coordination Council Meeting
Guam and CNMI leaders, including Gov. Lourdes Leon Guerrero and Gov. David Apatang, held a Civil-Military Coordination Council meeting on January 28. This marked the first participation of CNMI representatives in the CMCC, aimed at fostering military-civilian partnerships. Key discussions focused on regional military readiness and collaboration. On January 28, Guam Governor Lourdes Leon Guerrero and CNMI Governor David Apatang participated in a Civil-Military Coordination Council meeting with U.S. Navy Rear Admirals Josh Lasky and Brett Mietus.
This marked the first CNMI representation at the CMCC, promoting inter-island unity. Attendees from various military branches and Guam government agencies discussed collaboration on military readiness projects.
