Gumi City and LIG Nex1 Sign KRW 370 Billion Investment MOU for Defense Production Facility
Gumi City has signed a KRW 370 billion investment agreement with LIG Nex1 to establish a dedicated defense production facility. The investment is expected to create 200 jobs and enhance Gumi's status as a key hub for the K-defense industry. The facility will cover the entire production process, including assembly and testing of guided weapons and aerospace systems, contributing to South Korea's defense capabilities and export opportunities.

On February 5, Gumi City signed a Memorandum of Understanding with LIG Nex1 to invest KRW 370 billion in a dedicated defense production facility, creating 200 jobs. This facility will support the entire production process of guided weapons and aerospace systems.
The investment aims to bolster Gumi's position in the K-defense industry amidst rising global demand for military modernization. The agreement was attended by key officials including LIG Nex1 Vice President Park Bae-ho and Gyeongbuk Province Governor Lee Cheol-woo. Gumi is expected to leverage its industrial infrastructure to enhance defense production and respond to international defense demands.
