Gumi Defense Venture Center Reorganized as Gyeongbuk Defense Venture Center to Support Regional Defense Firms
The Gumi Defense Venture Center has expanded to become the Gyeongbuk Defense Venture Center as of January 1, 2026, creating a support hub for defense companies across Gyeongbuk. A signboard ceremony was held on February 12, attended by approximately 40 officials. Since its inception in 2014, the center has facilitated KRW 1.6 trillion in defense sales and created 1,000 jobs by partnering with 103 SMEs. The center plans to sign agreements with 19 new companies in 2026 and aims to strengthen the local defense industry ecosystem.

The Gumi Defense Venture Center was expanded and reorganized into the Gyeongbuk Defense Venture Center on January 1, 2026, to serve as a support hub for defense companies throughout Gyeongbuk. A signboard unveiling ceremony on February 12 formalized the establishment of a regional defense industry support system, attended by 40 officials.
Since March 2014, the center has signed agreements with 103 SMEs, achieving KRW 1.6 trillion in defense sales and creating 1,000 jobs. The event included signing agreements with 19 new companies for 2026 and presented the year's business plan and defense support projects. A meeting was also held to discuss local defense industry challenges and strategies for SME support.
