Halliburton Introduces XTR CS Injection System for CCUS and CO₂ Injection Wells
Halliburton has launched the XTR™ CS injection system to enhance carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) operations. This wireline-retrievable safety valve is designed for high-pressure and corrosive conditions typical in CO₂ injection wells. Its non-elastomeric design aims to reduce leak paths and improve performance consistency. The system can be tailored for various injection media and fluid properties, focusing on well integrity and reliable long-term CO₂ injection.

Halliburton has launched the XTR™ CS injection system for carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) operations, enhancing CO₂ injection well performance. This wireline-retrievable safety valve is engineered for high-pressure and corrosive conditions.
It functions as a primary or contingency safety valve and can serve as a flowback prevention device. The non-elastomeric design helps reduce leak paths and reliance on hydraulic control, maintaining performance across different settings. The system accommodates various injection media and aims to extend service life in high-rate injection environments, reflecting the industry's focus on well integrity as CCUS projects expand globally.
