Hamilton Appointed as Army Deputy Chief of Staff Starting April
Hamilton will succeed Lieutenant General Sir David Eastman as Deputy Chief of the General Staff in April, after completing his current role. He will oversee force design and capability development to ensure the Army is equipped for future operations. His career includes senior roles in DE&S and operational command. Hamilton aims to strengthen partnerships with industry and improve the Army's structure and capabilities.

Hamilton will become Deputy Chief of the General Staff (DCGS) in April, succeeding Lieutenant General Sir David Eastman. He will complete his current role at the end of March. In the DCGS position, Hamilton will be responsible for force design and capability development to ensure the Army's readiness for future operations.
His career includes leadership roles in the Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) and operational command. He plans to enhance collaboration with industry and leverage his experience in acquisition and program delivery to support the Army's modernization efforts.
