Hampshire College Supporters Raise $2M for Campus Preservation
Hampshire College advocates have secured over $2 million to prevent the campus from being repurposed for commercial use. The funds aim to facilitate the acquisition of the 800-acre site for educational and community purposes.

A coalition called Hampshire Next has raised more than $2 million to acquire the Hampshire College campus, preventing potential commercial development, such as data centers or strip malls. Discussions with the college's administrators are ongoing to ensure the campus, located in Amherst, remains dedicated to educational and community activities.
This initiative reflects a significant grassroots effort to maintain the integrity of the site amidst rising concerns about its future use. If successful, this could set a precedent for other educational institutions facing similar threats of commercialization.
