Hanwha Aerospace Begins Construction of K9 Artillery Factory in Dâmbovița, Romania
Hanwha Aerospace Romania has commenced construction of a factory in Petrești, Dâmbovița, for producing K9 self-propelled howitzers and K10 ammunition resupply vehicles. Named Hanwha Armoured Vehicle Centre of Excellence (H-ACE) Europe, this facility marks the company's first European production site and aims to enhance Romania's defense industry capabilities. The project supports Romania's ambition to become a European defense production hub and meets NATO and EU security objectives. The factory will feature modern assembly lines and aims for a local production localization level of up to 80%.

Hanwha Aerospace Romania has started construction on a production facility in Petrești, Dâmbovița, for K9 self-propelled howitzers and K10 ammunition resupply vehicles. The Hanwha Armoured Vehicle Centre of Excellence (H-ACE) Europe represents the company's first European production site and aims to bolster Romania's defense industry.
The facility will cover approximately 181,055 square meters and include modern assembly lines, testing facilities, and R&D laboratories. Hanwha aims for a localization rate of up to 80% and plans to expand into a regional hub for advanced ground systems, creating significant job opportunities. The project aligns with NATO and EU security goals.
