HD Hyundai Partners with Persona AI to Develop Humanoid Welding Robots for Shipyards
HD Hyundai has partnered with Persona AI to create humanoid welding robots aimed at addressing labor shortages in shipyards. The agreement, formalized at Hyundai's Global R&D Center in South Korea, follows successful prototype tests since May 2025. The project involves HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering for AI-based training systems and HD Hyundai Robotics for system integration. The final prototype is expected by the end of 2026, with commercial deployment planned for 2027.
