HD Hyundai Partners with TerraPower for Natrium Reactor Supply Agreement
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has been designated as the preferred supplier for key components in TerraPower's Natrium reactor project. This partnership aims to enhance market presence in the small modular reactor sector amid expected growth in the global nuclear power market, projected to reach $52.6 billion by 2034.

On May 21, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries signed a framework agreement with TerraPower to manufacture and supply components for the Natrium reactor, a fourth-generation sodium-cooled fast reactor. This deal follows a prior agreement in March 2025, aimed at expanding the manufacturing supply chain for Natrium reactors.
The partnership is expected to facilitate timely equipment delivery and support the commercialization of nuclear energy technologies. Additionally, a trilateral agreement was established with Hyundai Engineering & Construction to enhance engineering and procurement efforts for future nuclear projects. The anticipated growth of the nuclear power market underscores the strategic importance of this collaboration for HD Hyundai.
