HII Launches Robotics Program for Naval Production Enhancement
HII is introducing the High-Yield Production Robotics program to automate naval construction, partnering with Path Robotics and GrayMatter Robotics. This initiative is expected to modernize shipbuilding processes and enhance production capabilities significantly by 2027.

HII (NYSE:HII) has unveiled the High-Yield Production Robotics program during the U.S. Navy League Sea-Air-Space Expo 2026. The initiative combines robotic welding, automated material handling, autonomous surface treatment, and quality control within a shipbuilding assembly line.
A pilot program is set for 2027 after proof-of-concept demonstrations in 2026. HII's market capitalization is $15.4 billion, and its stock increased by 83% over the past year. The project aims to support structural needs for the unmanned surface vessel family ROMULUS.
HII will provide shipbuilding expertise, while partners will contribute engineering investment and automation systems. This advancement may bolster the industrial base and improve manufacturing efficiency in naval construction.
