Nikon SLM Solutions announced that HII's Newport News Shipbuilding has ordered a second NXG 600E large-format additive manufacturing machine. This order enhances HII's advanced manufacturing capabilities for US Navy shipbuilding and reflects ongoing investment in large-format metal additive manufacturing.

The partnership aims to produce large components and replace legacy castings for naval applications. Nikon will assist in the development of production parameters for nickel-aluminium bronze components, expanding material capabilities in support of US Navy supply chains and maritime readiness.
