Hilcorp Alaska Receives Approval for Two New Wells and Pad Expansion at Ninilchik Kalotsa Pad
Hilcorp Alaska has received approval from the Alaska Department of Natural Resources to drill two new wells at the Kalotsa Pad in its Ninilchik unit on the Kenai Peninsula. The Kalotsa 13 and Kalotsa 14 wells will include infrastructure such as gas flowlines and compressors.
The work is confined to the existing pad footprint. In November, the pad contributed 41% of Ninilchik unit production. Hilcorp is also seeking to expand the Kalotsa Pad by 1.93 acres, with public comments for this proposal due by February 16.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers noted that while complete avoidance of jurisdictional waters is not feasible, Hilcorp plans to implement measures to minimize environmental impacts. The expansion is expected to increase the pad size by approximately one-third.
