Hillsboro Solar Plant Secures $310 Million Financing from International Lenders
The Hillsboro Solar Power Plant in Texas has obtained $310 million from four international lenders, highlighting the global investment interest in U.S. renewable energy. This financing facilitates the development of a 200-megawatt facility aimed for operation by late 2027, generating enough electricity for approximately 46,000 homes.

The Hillsboro Solar Power Plant has secured $310 million in financing from Korea Development Bank, Crédit Agricole CIB, OCBC Bank, and Siemens Financial Services. Construction is set to start in the first half of 2026, with commercial operations expected by the end of 2027, producing about 476 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually.
Developed by Hyundai Engineering, this project marks a shift in their role from contractor to investment developer, allowing them to influence project design and timelines. This facility adds to the trend of international financing in Texas's renewable energy sector and follows a recent $524 million solar project by a South Korean consortium in Concho County. The involvement of South Korean firms in Texas reflects a strategic expansion beyond their domestic market.
