Himachal Pradesh and Norway Initiate Collaborative Efforts on Waste Management and Sustainability
Himachal Pradesh seeks to enhance waste management and sustainable urban development through a partnership with Norway. The collaboration aims to implement advanced waste recycling techniques and promote investments in tourism and renewable energy sectors.

Himachal Pradesh government is engaging with Norway to improve its waste management systems, focusing on solid waste and Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste recycling. Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized the need for expertise and best practices from Norway in areas like circular economy, sustainable tourism, climate-resilient urban development, and renewable energy.
Additionally, he has invited Norwegian investments in tourism, green energy, and geothermal sectors. This partnership is crucial as hill states face challenges in managing municipal and construction waste effectively, which impacts environmental sustainability. Implementing these strategies could lead to significant advancements in urban infrastructure and resource conservation.
