Himachal Pradesh Cabinet Approves Cancer Care Centre and Major Infrastructure Projects
The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet approved the establishment of a cancer care centre at Dr Radhakrishnan Government Medical College in Hamirpur, which will include 11 new departments and necessary staffing. Additionally, the Cabinet sanctioned the construction of a 4.3-km Naddi Zipline Project near Dharamsala, expected to be Asia's longest, with an estimated cost of ₹7.41 crore.
The Cabinet also adopted the National Policy on Geothermal Energy, designating the Directorate of Energy as the implementation agency. It approved the allotment of four hydroelectric projects totaling up to 25 MW and amendments to the Social Security (Pension and Allowance) Rule, 2010, for timely pension disbursement. Other decisions included an ordinance to levy 'Orphan and Widow Cess' on fuel, the extension of the Himachal Pradesh Industrial Investment Policy to 2026, and the approval of various employment-related initiatives.
