Himachal Pradesh Increases Solar Power Capacity by 100 MW, Targets 209 MW for 2025-26
Himachal Pradesh has added nearly 100 MW of solar power capacity over the past two years, with projections to reach 209 MW in 2025-26. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced this growth while also emphasizing the state's combined hydro and solar potential of around 13,000 MW. The government is open to considering new solar projects from private or institutional players and is exploring wind energy options. Efforts continue to stabilize power generation despite challenges faced by existing infrastructure.
