Himachal Pradesh Signs MoU with Army and Baidyanath to Cultivate Medicinal Plants in Border Villages

The Himachal Pradesh government signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army and Shree Baidyanath Ayurved to promote large-scale cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants in selected border and remote villages. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that the initiative aims to revive traditional ayurvedic practices and generate sustainable livelihoods for local residents.

Under the MoU, the Ayush Department will provide technical training, while Shree Baidyanath will ensure procurement of plants at fixed prices and supply high-quality seeds. The Indian Army will conduct training sessions for farmers to adopt improved cultivation methods. This initiative is expected to enhance income opportunities and economic stability for villagers in remote areas of Himachal Pradesh.
