House Armed Services Subcommittee Urges Multi-Year Contract for Virginia-class Submarines

Rep. Joe Courtney has urged the Defense Department to expedite a multi-year contract for up to 11 Block VI Virginia-class attack submarines, authorized in the FY2024 defense authorization act. Concurrently, the AIWA is advocating for federal funding for FY2027, requesting increased programmatic funding for ongoing Corps operations, with a focus on the Inland Waterway category.
The USCG has initiated the 2026 National Recreational Boating Safety Survey to collect data on boating across all states, marking the first survey since 2020. NORC at the University of Chicago will conduct interviews with over 50,000 households to gather insights.
